Autism
Learners on the autistic spectrum usually need support to enable them to access vocational learning, particularly when provided in different settings. Staff working with autistic youngsters value the opportunity to understand the condition and to receive advice and guidance from colleagues experienced in this area.
The Autism programme has been devised by colleagues from a range of settings with expertise and experience in enabling learners to access learning, and staff teaching, training or supporting them, to prepare for and respond to their learning and social needs.
The CLE has worked with colleagues from Leeds NE and NW SILCS, SACAR, Grange Technology College, Braithwaite Special School and Bradford College to devise and deliver 2 sessions.
